The Australian Research Council is housed in 8 Brindabella Circuit, which is the first five star, Green Star building in Australia, also designed by DJAS. The fit out was an integrated fit out with the base building, so the designers main challenge throughout the design phase was to stay true to the base building guidelines and design within the restrictions such as location of built zones for the active chilled beam air conditioning system which uses 100% fresh air. Finding products and materials that complied with Green Star requirements was also a main focus of the project.

Our goal in designing Australian Research Council (ARC) was to design an environmentally sustainable, efficient fit out whilst still being a sophisticated and modern design that ensured staff comfort. An open plan design promoting a close relationship between managers and staff was also favourable.
