The Australian Bureau of Statistics Adelaide is a refurbished fit-out across two floors within an existing tenancy in the Adelaide CBD. It is the first Activity Based Working (ABW) workspace for the ABS, with a landscape of different working environments that offer diversity and flexibility for staff.

The ABS sought to respond changing work habits and requirements within the organisation, and also to cater for a wider range of staff. The fit-out utilised the existing built environment and loose furniture where this could be woven into the new workplace layout. New purchases gave the opportunity to provide additional amenity, such as a more open plan working environment, sit-to-stand height-adjustable workstations, video-conferencing booths, collaborative meeting tables, and upholstered informal work settings, which provide an injection of colour and energy.
