Through the incorporation of the Activity Based Working (ABW) philosophy, DJAS were able to create a flexible space that allows for a landscape of working opportunities. The scope of works required a balance of the existing fitout with the ABS’s unique operational requirements. A range of shared spaces were created to include informal meeting areas, collaborative zones, breakout spaces and independent working opportunities. Throughout the conceptual design phase, DJAS was able to develop a strong understanding of the ABS working culture as it positions itself as a dynamic organisation focused on future-proofing. DJAS ensured that the space created was reflective of their current needs, however also provided flexibility to adapt and evolve with the Bureau. The result is a dynamic and engaging workspace which supports the Bureau as it moves to flexible working environment.
