“I carry both South African and Australian heritage. My family’s arrival to Australia began when my father first arrived in 1993. I was born on Ngunnawal Country and have since chosen to both live and work here.”
Tayla began her interior design career at a local design firm during her final year of study at the University of Canberra. Having already completed her Advanced Diploma of Interior Design at the Canberra Institute of Technology, her foundation was enriched with a comprehensive understanding of design principles and a keen eye for detail. This academic background seamlessly intertwined with her practical experiences, allowing Tayla to embark on her professional journey.
Working as an Interior Designer, Tayla developed her knowledge and experience on both commercial and residential projects. Her dedication and innovative approach propelled her forward and upon completion of her degree, Tayla joined the team at a local renovation company as an in-house Interior Designer, where she managed a variety of small-scale residential projects across the Canberra region.
Tayla’s creative capabilities and logical frame of mind allows for the ideal mix of aesthetic and functional design solutions. Driven by an innate curiosity and a genuine passion for her craft, Tayla consistently seeks out opportunities to enhance her skills and broaden her horizons.
After several years working in the residential sector, Tayla is excited to transition into the commercial realm. She is motivated by the aspiration to curate spaces that not only captivate the eye but also foster productivity, enhance well-being, and promote connectivity.
