Scott is a Director at DJAS Architect and has worked extensively in the commercial construction industry for over 30 years. He is a creative problem solver with a focus on high quality design outcomes for his clients. He has a diverse range of architectural skills including precinct Masterplanning, urban design, feasibility studies, technical facilities, education and the performing arts.
Scott began his architectural career with DJAS Architecture in in 1995. After five years working abroad in the United States with A&E firm Rosser International (2001-2006), he returned to Australia and re-joined the team at DJAS.
He has considerable experience in client briefing, design development, contract documentation and construction administration in a variety of projects including commercial office, scientific research and development, Commonwealth and ACT Government, Defence, educational, sports, aquatic, aviation, civic, urban design and master planning.
Scott’s Masterplanning experience includes the Canberra Grammar School, CIT Fyshwick Trade Skills Centre, Brindabella Business Park and Majura Park Precinct. The Majura Park Office Precinct at the Canberra Airport was an ongoing development over a seven-year period. He assisted with the Masterplanning and was the Project Architect for each of the office buildings which have an average size of 8,500m². Brindabella Business Park’s 3,5,7 Molonglo Drive, a 30,000m² office building also benefited from his input.
Scott was the project director for the Belconnen Arts Centre Stage 2 and he worked closely with the ACT Government to ensure the diverse user groups and community expectations were met. Some of Scott’s other recent projects are the CGS Primary School Building, The Snow Centre for Education in the Asian Century, and the ELC at Canberra Girls Grammar School. These facilities received a number of architecture and sustainability awards and are excellent examples of his architectural design skills.
