“On my mother’s side I am a first-generation Australian, and my ancestral roots trace back to Scotland and Wales. My mother’s family came to Australia in 1951 from Scotland, while my father’s family has a longer connection, with ancestors who were convicts deported from Wales in 1836. I was born in Bundjulung Country, within the Kulin Nation, and I now live and work on Ngunnawal Country.”
