Courtney is a Project Lead at DJAS Architecture’s Canberra office, with over nine years of experience spanning private homes and multi-residential developments, education, health, museums, defence, heritage, fit-out and policy projects. Guided by her philosophy that “People are the most important part of architecture,” she develops design solutions that balance technical precision with human-centred outcomes.
Courtney has contributed to key projects such as the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) and defence facilities, showcasing her ability to deliver coordinated and integrated results. In 2024 she worked with Infrastructure Canberra to develop the Infrastructure Design Requirements, a key framework for ACT construction projects. Additionally, her work with the Centre for a Better Canberra at the University of Canberra contributed to policy advancements on the utilisation of Community Facility Zoned (CFZ) land to better serve Canberra’s communities. Her research has been featured in publications including Thriving Canberra 2024: Better and Fairer Utilisation of CFZ Land in Canberra and Interface / Cemetery :: City, a collaborative project with the Alastair Swayn Foundation, ACT Government and University of Canberra.
Courtney holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Canberra and is an active contributor to the architectural community. She has served as an ACT Chapter Councillor of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) and has supported future architects through her role as a sessional tutor at the University of Canberra.
