Catherine Carter joined DJAS in March 2024, bringing extensive experience and a deep passion for design and development. As a respected and influential figure in the property industry, she is recognised for her contributions to the built environment and her comprehensive understanding of urban design.

At DJAS, Catherine leads an interdisciplinary design practice renowned for innovative solutions in the built environment. Her leadership drives the studio’s excellence in interior and workplace design, ensuring that DJAS continues to deliver holistic and high-quality architectural solutions that meet clients’ needs and enhance communities.

Catherine’s expertise extends beyond DJAS. She is the Founder and Director of think-tank Salon Canberra and an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Canberra. A passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Catherine also serves on various government and industry boards and is a sought-after commentator and voice for innovation.

Her career spans roles from ministerial advisor to senior leadership positions within the property industry, including with the Property Council of Australia. Known for building communities, spearheading stakeholder engagement, and fostering impactful partnerships, Catherine’s leadership has been instrumental in steering DJAS forward.

Catherine’s contributions have been acknowledged through several awards, including a National Australia Day Achievement Medallion, the Telstra Business Women’s ACT Community and Government Award, and the National Association of Women in Construction Crystal Vision Award.
